One in five patients delay going to the dentist because they can’t afford to see one – meaning 100,000 end up in hospital with preventable problems with their teeth.
Truthfullness 3 / 5
Fact checked by: fullfact
Notes
Seems a little tenuous. The one-in-five data is 10 years old (however it’s a survey that runs every 10 years, so it’s the most recent data). This is an estimate, it’s not possible to link the 100,000 figure to the 1 in 5 figure.
Do you agree this deserves 3 / 5 for truthfullness?
